Lafayette man convicted of armed robbery at Opelousas gas station

OPELOUSAS, La. (NEWS 15) — A Lafayette man was convicted on Tuesday of three counts of armed robbery with a firearm after robbing three people at gunpoint at a Murphy USA gas station in Opelousas in 2021.

Kayvyon Sapp, 36, of Lafayette, was convicted after just two days of trial. A jury of 12 returned a unanimous verdict in under two hours of deliberation.
