Update: Flash flood warning in place for Erie County Thursday morning triggered by thunderstorms

On Thursday at 8:27 a.m. an updated flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 10:45 a.m. for Erie County.

“At 8:27 a.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produced heavy rain early this morning across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing across the Buffalo Metro area,” adds the weather service. “Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.”

Locations impacted by the warning include Buffalo, Cheektowaga, West Seneca, Clarence, Lackawanna, Kenmore, Depew, Amherst, Tonawanda, Lancaster, Williamsville, Akron, Blasdell and Clarence Center…
