A Massive Guinea Pig Rescue in Utica
This started as a call no one takes lightly—Buffalo Guinea Pig Mafia Rescue was contacted about a rapidly growing guinea pig situation in Utica that had spiraled far beyond control.
With the number of animals involved and the severity of the conditions, Friends Forever Animal Rescue stepped in to help with the rescue effort, working alongside them to safely remove the animals from the home and get them into care.
How It Got So Overwhelming
It all traces back to two guinea pigs purchased from a pet store that were mis-sexed. From there, unchecked breeding over about a year and a half turned into a population explosion—eventually reaching roughly 150 guinea pigs.
What started small quickly became unmanageable, and the animals paid the price.
