(FOX40.COM) — Thousands of drivers traveling through the Central Valley are expected to see smoother commutes following the completion of a major transportation project at one of the region’s busiest highway interchanges.
Local leaders gathered Wednesday to celebrate the completion of the first phase of the State Route 99/120 Connector Project near Manteca, a nearly $50 million effort aimed at improving traffic flow, increasing safety, and creating more efficient connections between surrounding communities.
Drone footage of the project shows significant upgrades throughout the corridor, including a rebuilt Austin Road overcrossing, which has been expanded from two to four lanes.
