EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Independent School District school board will replace former trustees Valerie Beals and Daniel Call with appointments in their respective districts.
An ad-hoc committee with membership by trustees Alex Cuellar and Jack Loveridge will oversee the appointment process as applicants begin filing their desire to fill the seats.
The two resigned before the school board voted on the upcoming school year’s budget and a day after the board voted to declare financial exigency.
Beals said she submitted her resignation saying she wanted to spend time with family and helping her mother-in-law, who has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Call said he disagreed with “the direction this board has chosen for EPISD.”…
