[1] FBI wiretap reveals conversations between attorney and APD officers in DWI scandal – Newly unsealed federal documents, detail the FBI’s wiretapped phone conversations between APD officers and the law firm they were conspiring with in a DWI scandal. One of those attorneys, and ringleader of the scheme, Thomas Clear III, was starting to express concern that the FBI might be onto them, according to federal documents detailing a wiretapped phone conversation. Thirteen people have been charged and pleaded guilty as a result of the 30-year criminal enterprise.

[2] Report: Two New Mexico smoke shops made $400K in SNAP transactions – According to a report presented to the Legislative Finance Committee this week, New Mexico relies on SNAP benefits more than any other state in the country. But it’s the fifth worst for issuing incorrect payments. That report also found that two smoke shops have made hundreds of thousands of dollars from SNAP transactions. The report found that the two smoke shops made twice as much than average convenience store, general store, or mid-size grocery store last year. The report did not name those smoke shops or suggest they did anything wrong.

[3] Cooler weather with rain chances ahead for some – Isolated showers and storms are forecasted today across parts of the central mountain chain and sections of west New Mexico.
