Torrential rain, hail, flooding reported across Capital Region

A tornado watch has expired, but severe thunderstorm warnings continue to pop up Thursday across upstate New York and Vermont and parts of Massachusetts, according to the National Weather Service.

Columbia County warning extended

3:43 p.m.: As a storm moves through Columbia County, the National Weather Service has extended its severe thunderstorm warning until 4:30 p.m.

The storm still extends from near Hancock to near New Lebanon to near Valatie, and is now moving east at 30 mph. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding, and 60 mph wind gusts can damage property. — Erica Smith
