Several major drug trafficking operations in and around Grand Rapids have been disrupted in 2026. In one recent raid, authorities seized 7.5 pounds of cocaine and four firearms.
Major Drug Trafficking Operations Disrupted Near Grand Rapids in 2026
Michigan law enforcement has reported multiple major drug trafficking busts in 2026. One major case occurred in April, when federal and local authorities indicted 14 individuals from Southwest Michigan as part of a large-scale, ongoing investigation into the distribution of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine throughout the region.
In May 2026, law enforcement officers executed a major drug-related search warrant at a residence on South Division Avenue, detaining nine individuals. Five people were subsequently arrested on charges that included outstanding warrants and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
For the third consecutive month, authorities have announced a major drug bust in the Grand Rapids region.
7.5 Pounds of Cocaine, Weapons Seized in Grand Rapids
According to WOOD TV8, two separate investigations in Kentwood and Grand Rapids led to the seizure of nearly 7.5 pounds of cocaine and two firearms. During a raid at a Kentwood residence, investigators allegedly discovered nearly 5 pounds of cocaine and two weapons in the bedroom of 40-year-old Terrell Winfield.
In a separate raid in Grand Rapids, investigators reportedly found 2.2 pounds of cocaine on the porch of 41-year-old Shawntrell Demond Davis, along with a smaller quantity inside the home’s kitchen. Authorities also recovered two handguns during the search of the residence.

Both men had prior felony convictions and were prohibited from possessing firearms. Winfield remains in the Kent County Jail on a $400,000 bond, while Davis was released after posting a $20,000 bond…
