140 mph motorcycle bust and 115 mph in a 40: Martin Co. Sheriff’s Office warns slow down

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is sending a clear message to drivers: slow down or face serious consequences.

The sheriff’s office on Wednesday highlighted three arrests made in June involving motorists accused of traveling at extreme speeds on local roadways, underscoring what officials describe as an ongoing effort to curb dangerous driving and prevent catastrophic crashes.

Authorities said Michele Albertson, of Fort Myers, was arrested after deputies say she was driving 115 miles per hour along Southwest Warfield Boulevard, where the posted speed limit is 40 mph.

In a separate incident on the same roadway, Adriana Sugeidy De Leon Dionicio, of Lake Worth, was clocked traveling 114 mph in a 60 mph zone.

Authorities also reported a third arrest involving Jillian Nicole Lee, of Port St. Lucie, who was stopped by the Florida Highway Patrol on I-95. Investigators say Lee was riding a motorcycle at 140 mph in a 70 mph zone and was additionally charged with operating the vehicle without the required motorcycle endorsement.

Officials noted that the roads where the incidents occurred, particularly Southwest Warfield Boulevard, have been the site of severe and sometimes deadly crashes, raising concerns about speeding and its role in traffic fatalities…
