NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Early Thursday morning (June 18), neighbors on General Haig Street woke up to a chaotic scene. Tree limbs had crashed onto the street, completely covering one car. Jim Coyne said he suspects a tornado moved through the neighborhood.
“I got woken up with the emergency alerts, went downstairs and it sounded like a freight train. Power went out, the toilets all drained and then woke up to this mess,” said Jim Coyne.
With the power out in her house, Baileigh McMillan hopped in her car for air conditioning. Storm debris boxed in her car, leaving her worried about how she would get to work…
