RIO RANCHO — A man municipally charged for cutting down FLOCK cameras, which read license plates and do not photograph speed violators, is now facing felony charges.
Jevon Martinez, 44, of Rio Rancho, was summoned for three counts each of larceny, criminal damage to property and tampering with evidence on various roads in the city.
According to a Rio Rancho Police Department criminal complaint, there were three incidents of Martinez allegedly cutting down parts of the cameras including the camera itself, solar panels, lithium batteries, wiring, mounting hardware and other components. Once Martinez had taken the equipment off, he replaced it with a flag with vertical red stripes and blue stars on a white rectangle, symbolizing what he called the New Republic of the United States and New Mexico…
