Guilty verdict reached in Troy gun trafficking case

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office (RCDA) announced that Robert Bacon of Warrenton, North Carolina was found guilty on Thursday in a Troy weapons case. Bacon, 40, was arrested alongside six others last summer.

On June 25, 2025, Troy Police executed a search warrant at a property on Glen Avenue while conducting a firearm trafficking investigation. During the search, numerous guns were located within the residence, five of which were illegally owned by Bacon, resulting in him being taken into custody.

Three of the other defendants, including Che Bland of Schenectady, Nikki Brate of Troy, and Connor Ingraham of Troy, have since pleaded guilty and been sentenced in connection to the incident. The RCDA said that the investigation stemmed from operations through the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) program.

“This case exemplifies the ‘see something, say something’ principle, as the defendant traveled to Troy to sell guns illegally,” Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly stated. “His presence in Troy underscores the critical importance of public vigilance.”…
