“It feels like I can breathe again.” Meet Michigan’s newest lottery millionaire.

A 46-year-old man from Calhoun County recently found himself holding a $1,000,000 Michigan Lottery ticket.

The man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, shared some details with the Michigan Lottery about how this winning moment came to be.

The winning Millionaire Maker ticket was bought in Battle Creek at Lakeview Liquor on Capital Avenue Southwest.

“I don’t play the lottery a lot, but whenever I feel like buying a ticket, I’ll buy one. I bought a Millionaire Maker ticket while I was at the store and then tucked it away to scratch later after work. When I saw it was a $1 million winner, I freaked out! It feels like I can breathe again.”

The lucky man decided to take his prize as a one-time lump sum payment, which came out to around $693,000…
