Heavy rainfall causes wastewater overflows in Mobile-area waterways

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS) says heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Arthur is causing multiple wastewater overflows across its service area.

MAWSS officials said crews are monitoring the overflows, which are impacting Eslava Creek, Dog River, Halls Mill Creek and Mobile Bay. MAWSS said overflow volumes will be released once conditions improve and the overflows have stopped.
