The Garden at city tavern celebrates Philadelphia’s revolutionary roots

Those looking to mix history with spirits now have a unique meeting point in Philadelphia.

The Garden at City Tavern is set to open June 25 as part of the city’s ongoing America 250 celebrations. The seasonal outdoor pop-up will transform the garden behind the historic venue in Old City into an open-air experience inspired by 18th-century food, drink, and social traditions. Operating Thursday through Sunday throughout the summer, the Garden will bring history to life through interactive programming, elevated hospitality, and a variety of special touches.

The concept draws inspiration from the original City Tavern, established in 1773, which served as a hub for many of America’s founding figures and played a role in the social and political life of the country.
