New Hanover man kidnaps two victims at gunpoint during two-county crime spree

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A 62-year-old man is accused of kidnapping two people at gunpoint in back-to-back incidents that began in New Hanover County and ended in Pender County.

According to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO), Randy Walters kidnapped a woman at gunpoint from the Dollar General around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 17. Warrants allege Walters restrained the woman inside a vehicle with duct tape and zip ties and stole her driver’s license and money.
