Wisconsin gang members sentenced to life for murder and COVID-19 fraud

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin say two gang members will now spend life behind bars after being convicted of murder and also for their role in a COVID-19 fraud scheme involving 28 other people.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Wisconsin, evidence during the trial showed that a Milwaukee man and Wild 100s gang member, Ronnell Bowman, paid Lawrence Turner, also from Milwaukee, and another Wild 100s gang member $10,000 for the murder of an “N.B.”

Bowman reportedly had no direct dispute with N.B., but he was said to be friends with someone Bowman wanted revenge against. Officials say N.B. was ambushed and shot over two dozen times in the yard of his grandparents’ home.

Authorities found that Bowman paid Turner and the other Wild 100s gang member for the murder with stolen COVID-19 unemployment benefit money. Evidence at the trial also showed that Bowman conspired with others to violate federal firearms laws, including possessing machine guns, transferring firearms to felons, and possessing firearms as a felon…
