ST. CHARLES, Mo. – An elderly Florissant man was charged after stealing $5,000 from a slot machine at a casino in St. Charles.
According to a probable cause statement from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the incident occurred on May 1 at Ameristar Casino in St. Charles.
MSHP officials said the theft happened after the victim placed approximately $5,000 in cash on a slot machine he was playing. At some point, officials said James N. Gallagher III, 87, stole the cash and exited the casino before being contacted.
