Longmont and Lafayette are joining forces to host a day’s worth of celebrations for Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the emancipation of African Americans.
On Saturday, the cities will hold festivals featuring guest speakers, musicians and showcases of the cultural heritage of Black community members. The Longmont celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Ave. The Lafayette event follows the Roosevelt Park celebration, running from 4 to 8 p.m. along North Harrison Avenue between Geneseo and Simpson streets…
