Animal shelter in Cincinnati sounds ‘Code Red’ as it hits full capacity

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Cincinnati Animal CARE has issued a Code Red as the shelter says it is in a state of emergency with full kennels and needs people to foster or adopt to clear space.

The shelter said it is currently caring for 878 total animals, including 459 dogs and 398 cats, along with a rabbit, a rat, and a hamster. Cincinnati Animal CARE said there are only 15 open spots for dogs across its network…
