Piedmont Classic raises almost $140,000 for cancer and child healthcare

The final numbers are in, and Piedmont Columbus Regional Foundation raised a net total of $137,951 from the 31st annual Piedmont Classic- Driven by Mercedes-Benz of Columbus this spring at the Country Club of Columbus. The proceeds will benefit patient care and support services at the John B. Amos Cancer Center and the Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital.

Two hundred avid pickleball, tennis, and golf players paired up with the championship Columbus State University tennis team, as well as pickleball and golf professionals, for top-notch instruction and friendly competition.

The John B. Amos Cancer Center is the region’s only comprehensive cancer center, and the Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital is west Georgia and east Alabama’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Both places provide compassionate, high-quality care for our community.

“This fundraiser helps us stay up to date with technology and invest in research and development so we can continue to offer state-of-the-art care close to home,” said Piedmont Columbus Regional Foundation Major Gift Programs Manager Jessie Brown. “Piedmont Classic has raised more than $4 million since it began in 1995, and we couldn’t do it without the support of our sponsors and donors.”…
