COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The community came together on Friday to celebrate Juneteenth, a day focused on history, culture, and unity at Pierce Chapel Church in Columbus.
The event featured music and fellowship highlighting the significance of Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Organizer, Yamona Pierce, says the local history that is tied to the holiday is what makes it so special.
