Fresno Traffic Stop Leads to DUI and Child Endangerment Arrest

A 28-year-old woman was arrested on multiple charges Thursday night after an attempted traffic stop escalated into a brief struggle with officers and an investigation into suspected driving under the influence, according to the Fresno Police Department.

According to Fresno police, at approximately 7:58 p.m. an officer was patrolling near Blackstone and Belmont avenues when a gray sedan narrowly missed the patrol vehicle, moved into the number two lane, and made a westbound turn from that lane, cutting off the officer’s ability to safely turn. The officer attempted a traffic stop after observing what police described as an unsafe turning movement.

Police said the vehicle accelerated, made a sudden southbound turn into an alley west of North Calaveras Street, and then stopped behind a residence. The driver exited the vehicle, walked away, and began yelling…
