Juneteenth celebrations span mid-Michigan with festivals, flag raising and more

LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – The mid-Michigan region kicked off Juneteenth celebratory events Thursday, from the south side of Lansing to Michigan State University.

Juneteenth recognizes the final day in which the last slaves were emancipated more than 150 years ago. Celebrations started early in the morning and continued into the evening.
