Interstate 24 eastbound through south Nashville turned into a parking lot Friday morning after a serious crash involving a motorcycle near the Harding Place exit shut down all eastbound lanes.
Emergency crews closed the interstate while they worked the scene, diverting traffic onto local ramps. Within minutes, backup stretched for miles as frustrated drivers scrambled for alternate routes around the closure.
According to WKRN News 2, the Tennessee Department of Transportation first logged the crash at about 10:12 a.m. The incident was initially reported as involving a pedestrian before officials clarified that a motorcycle was involved.
