No matter where they lived — even in Canada, where Paul grew up — New Orleans and its culture kept calling Helen Hill and her husband, Paul Gailiunas, back. The couple, both vegetarians, thought it would be funny to have a pet pig. Over the years, they adopted two, naming them Daisy and Rosie.
“I’ve got a sweet picture of her holding Rosie when Rosie was a baby,” said Helen’s mother, Becky Lewis. “And Helen just thought she was the sweetest thing in the world.”
