Passenger rail service could come to Pueblo as soon as 2032, according to Sal Pace, general manager for Colorado Front Range Passenger Rail District.
Funding for the first phase of the project, between Fort Collins and Denver, has already been secured by splitting the cost with Denver’s Regional Transportation District, Pace said during a presentation to Pueblo City Council on June 15.
“What that does is allow us to jumpstart for future funding into phase two, which will extend service from Fort Collins to Pueblo, and in phase two, we will have service within five years of receiving money from a new tax measure,” he said…
