COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Columbus man accused in a fatal Hilltop shooting has pleaded guilty and been sentenced to serve up to three decades in prison.
Kalan Hansard, 22, accepted a plea agreement on June 8 for the shooting of Ronald J. Smith that took place in March 2023. He was arrested in December 2023 after a warrant was issued that August.
According to Columbus police, Smith was found shot after an attempted robbery in the 300 block of South Warren Avenue. He died three days later at a hospital. See latest headlines from NBC4 in the video player above.
