Mello Buckzz was arrested in Chicago on Monday night and booked on a felony gun charge, days before her new tape is set to drop. The rapper, born Melanie Doyle, was taken into custody around 10 p.m. on June 15 on the city’s West Side, where Chicago police charged her with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon for carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle without the state-required firearm owner’s license.
Along with the gun charge, police hit her with two counts of resisting or obstructing an officer, plus citations for an obstructed front windshield and transporting open alcohol while driving. Booking records list no bond, and she was released from custody the next morning on June 16.
Doyle has not gone quiet about any of it. On Friday she posted her own mugshot to Instagram with the caption “PRETTY OPP next week,” pointing straight at the tape she announced last week. Pretty Opp, which shares its name with the 2023 track that first put her on critics’ radar, is due June 26…
