The Sewerage & Water Board named Kaitlin Tymrak as its new general superintendent earlier this week, handing the career engineer the responsibility for overseeing the technical operations of New Orleans’ water utility and making her the first woman to hold the role in the S&WB’s 127-year history.
Tymrak, who had served as interim superintendent since earlier this year, received her formal appointment from the utility’s governing board on Wednesday. The position reports directly to the board and manages all of the S&WB’s drainage, sewerage and water operations.
