PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (WWSB) – Charlotte County Fire & EMS has placed Engine 15, the apparatus assigned to Firefighter/Paramedic Jan A. “Jay” Sanders Jr.’s last station, on display outside Fire & EMS Headquarters in Punta Gorda as a tribute to his more than 35 years of service to the community.
The engine, draped in black mourning bunting, is stationed outside the department’s headquarters at 26571 Airport Road and will remain on display through Wednesday, June 24.
The public, fellow first responders, friends and community members are invited to visit the memorial and pay their respects…
