Days before trial, former Tennessee Titans scout seeks to block key forensic evidence in murder case

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — As jury selection approaches in the murder case against former Tennessee Titans scout Blaise Taylor, defense attorneys are asking a Davidson County judge to limit some of the prosecution’s key forensic evidence before it is ever presented to a jury.

Taylor has pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of felony murder in the deaths of his girlfriend, Jade Benning, and their unborn child.

The motions do not ask the court to dismiss the charges. Rather, they seek to limit or exclude evidence the defense argues does not satisfy constitutional and evidentiary standards before jurors hear the case…
