Watermelon Festival returns for 75th year drawing hundreds to Monticello

MONTICELLO, Fla. (WCTV) – Hundreds of people traveled near and far to Monticello on Saturday for the 75th annual Watermelon Festival.

Crowds lined the roads around the courthouse square for the parade, with more than 80 entries this year.

“This is the one time a year that we can plan on seeing thousands of people,” Jefferson County resident Debbie Snapp said. “The Watermelon Festival just keeps getting better and better every year.”…
