OMAHA, NEB. — Five years after his warrant was issued by the Kay County District Court, Hugo Roberto Rodas, 31 was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Omaha, Neb. on May 1.
According to a video posted by FBI – Omaha, Rodas was arrested as part of “Operation Steadfast Promise,” which is an operation where the FBI works with Tribal law enforcement in order to “address a wide range of violent crime threats including gangs and criminal enterprises, violent crimes against children, and fugitive apprehension cases in Tribal communities.”
An FBI investigation revealed that Rodas had fled to Macy, Neb. and that he had an Omaha Tribe of Nebraska Identification Card. A witness also claimed to have seen Rodas on the reservation as recently as April 23. An Omaha Tribe of Nebraska Identification Card assigned to Rodas was located in the suspect vehicle by Ponca City police at the end of the June 17, 2021 pursuit. Rodas was booked in the Kay County Detention Center on June 10, where he is being held on $100,000 bond.
