High E. coli levels found at Riverview Park sandbar in North Augusta

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – Savannah Riverkeeper is warning the public to avoid swimming or wading near the sandbar at Riverview Park after recent water testing found E. coli levels above 2,400 CFU/100 mL, according to their Facebook post.

Riverkeeper said the results are more than 10 times higher than the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s recommended recreational limit, indicating significant bacterial contamination and making the area unsafe for water contact activities.
