COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Pride celebration festivities were in full effect in downtown Columbus Saturday, celebrating the 45th annual Stonewall Columbus Pride Festival.
This year’s theme is “Until we’re all free” and thousands of people marched from the Ohio Statehouse through the Short North, feeling a shared sense of community.
“It feels great when we get to bring the community together, all working towards the same goal of loving and joy and all of that good stuff,” said Lauryn Floring, director of Flaggots Ohio.

More than 400 volunteers, 200 vendors and performances made the 45th year of this event possible. The festival also offered a resource fair. “There is still a lot of misinformation about who is eligible to donate and what the needs are,” said Ellie Ringler with Versiti Blood Center of Ohio. “I’m really hoping to just talk to one person today about the fact that gay men are in fact able to donate now.”…
