SPD investigates early-morning shooting: two victims in the hospital expected to survive

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse police are investigating an early-morning shooting on South Salina Street that sent two people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department responded Sunday morning at about 2:15 a.m. to the 2400 block of South Salina Street, after a ShotSpotter activation indicated multiple rounds had been fired. Police said officers found evidence at the scene confirming that shots had been fired in the area.

While officers were on scene, they were notified that a shooting victim had arrived at Upstate University Hospital in a private vehicle. Officers went to the hospital and spoke with a 36-year-old woman who was being treated for a gunshot wound to her right leg…
