SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The wildfire burning above the University of Utah in Salt Lake City has moved further away from homes, allowing for the shelter-in-place to be lifted.
The Bonneville Fire has burned nearly 400 acres in the foothills near Red Butte Gardens, forcing the closure of the gardens, the Utah Museum of Natural History and multiple trails. While residents are asked to avoid the area, there are no evacuations in place as the fire is moving uphill away from communities.
