Chesapeake Life Center will host “Come S.I.T. Awhile,” a free grief retreat designed to help women find support, healing and community. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 25 at the Center for Hope & Healing on Hospice of the Chesapeake’s John & Cathy Belcher Campus in Pasadena.
The retreat is made possible by Sisters In Truth, a traveling seminar and retreat program focused on making grief care accessible and affordable for women.
Retreat Inspired by Personal Loss
Sisters In Truth was founded by Baltimore artist Morgan Banks, who holds a master of fine arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art. While completing her graduate program, Banks lost four family members within one year.
After struggling to find affordable counseling, she connected with Roberta’s House, a Baltimore grief support center, and was diagnosed with prolonged grief disorder. Her experience led her to develop grief resources for women across the country…
