Stormy Sunday evening, quiet start to the work week

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The work week will start off on a quiet note after a batch of Sunday evening storms.

SUNDAY EVENING/NIGHT:

A round of strong to severe storms remains possible this evening. Damaging wind gusts, an isolated tornado or two, and flooding are all possible. It’s uncertain how much strong activity Central Indiana may see but the risk is there for a few hours.

The highest threat and strongest storms may end up pushing to our south by mid evening, but time will tell. At least some rain & thunder could linger overnight. Lows should be mainly in the 60s. A FLOOD WATCH remains in effect through Monday morning. Model data suggest 1-3″ could fall in some areas tonight.

MONDAY:

Mostly cloudy skies and lingering showers are expected for the first half of the day but brighter skies are more likely during the afternoon. A stray shower or two could also develop during the 2nd half of the day. Temperatures may stay in the 60s for a long time before punching back into the 70s. Northerly winds 10-20 mph may be breezy at times.

MONDAY NIGHT:
