The Coral Springs Police Department is set to enhance its aerial law enforcement capabilities significantly. The Coral Springs City Commission has officially approved funding to expand the department’s innovative Drone First Responder (DFR) program, aiming to reduce response times and improve public safety.
The commission authorized a two-part investment to establish state-of-the-art drone infrastructure for the city. $295,528 in law enforcement forfeiture funds will be used to purchase three advanced drone docking stations. Additionally, the commission awarded a contract worth $465,436 to Axon Enterprise, a public safety technology company based in Arizona, to provide the corresponding drones and integrated docking software systems.
