Terry Black’s BBQ fires up jalapeno sausage pizza collab with Via 313

If you’re still debating what to get for dinner this Father’s Day weekend, why not combine two delicious meals Texans across the state love? Barbecue and pizza, Detroit-style pizza to be specific.

That’s right, Austin-based Detroit-style pizza chain Via 313, the No. 1 gluten-free pizza in America, is partnering with fellow Austin-born brand Terry Black’s Barbecue for a limited-time collaboration, the companies announced in a news release. Starting on Thursday, June 18, and going through August 2, Via 313 is launching The Desperado, a pizza made with barbecue exclusively from Terry Black’s.

“In Texas, barbecue and pizza have both built large followings, but they don’t usually share the same plate,” Via 313 wrote in a news release. “That’s changing this summer.”

The Desperado pairs Terry Black’s jalapeno cheddar sausage with pickled jalapenos, spicy pickled pineapple, red onions, pork spice rub and Terry Black’s spicy barbecue sauce. It’s described as a savory, smoky, tangy, spicy and a little reckless pie that barbecue lovers and pizza fans alike will love for a summer bite, the news release shared…
