First Alert Forecast: Mostly dry Monday, but more showers on the way by midweek

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Mostly dry and stable weather is expected Monday, with the exception of Kauai and east Hawaii Island, where an area of clouds could bring a few more showers.

There’s a First Alert for more showers midweek. An area of moisture from an old trough will move in from the east while an upper disturbance will move toward the islands. This will result in enhanced showers, mainly for windward areas, but some showers may make their way leeward, since the trade winds will also become locally breezy. More typical breezy summertime trade wind conditions should return Friday into the weekend.
