Oliver Tree’s body has been returned to the United States following the tragic helicopter crash that claimed his life last week.

The 32-year-old artist died on June 14 when two helicopters collided midair over Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, resulting in the deaths of all six people on board. One helicopter crashed onto a car dealership parking lot, igniting a fire fueled by electric vehicles parked nearby. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Due to severe burns sustained in the accident, Oliver’s identification required dental records and medical data from the U.S. His family confirmed on social media Sunday evening that his remains had been repatriated.

Sharing a collection of photos spanning Oliver’s life, his family wrote, “Rest in peace Oliver Tree Nickell June 29th, 1993 – June 14th, 2026. Your legacy will live on forever,” accompanied by a heart emoji. They expressed gratitude to fans for their outpouring of love and support, saying it has been a source of strength during this difficult time.

Oliver’s final resting place is now in California. His loved ones also announced the upcoming launch of his foundation, Dr.

Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Grant For Baby Geniuses, a project he had planned before his passing. “We will make sure his wish comes to fruition so that more joy, love, and art can be spread into the world,” they said.

The tribute concluded with one of Oliver’s own quotes: “No matter how strange you think you look, no matter how ugly you feel, you are beautiful.”

The other victims of the crash have been identified as Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim Díaz, known as Gaspi; fellow Argentine Lucas Vignale; and Brazilians Lucas Brito, Charles Marsillac, and Alexandre Souza. Brazilian authorities continue to investigate whether human error by the pilot or air traffic control contributed to the fatal collision.
