America250 is planning its own July 4 concert: Who’s playing?

Using fireworks in Massachusetts is illegal unless a licensed professional is using them. Those who bring them into the state or use them can face a fine of up to $100 or jail time. Massachusetts is the only state in the country to have a complete ban on the sale and use of fireworks.

Illegal fireworks contribute to over 100 fires and dozens of serious injuries in the state each year, with about half occurring in the weeks around July 4. To find a licensed display near you, visit mass.gov.
