Woman at Pebble Springs retirement community attacked over dead husband’s financial records

An elderly woman at the Pebble Springs retirement community was attacked as another woman tried to seize her dead husband’s financial records.

Tracy Lynn Bogan, 55, who lives in the Spruce Creek South community in Summerfield, was arrested Sunday on a felony charge of battery on a person 65 years of age or older.

The altercation occurred at about 4:15 p.m. at a residence in the Pebble Springs retirement community located off County Road 466 near The Villages. According to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Bogan showed up at the elderly woman’s home uninvited just two days after the passing of the woman’s husband.

While Bogan was visiting, the topic of finances was brought up. The woman told Bogan she had located a book containing all of her and her deceased husband’s bank account information. When Bogan asked to look at the book, the woman refused…
