Suspect allegedly threatening violence arrested after 911 hangup call

A 20-year-old Wildwood man who allegedly threatened to “shoot up” his family’s home was arrested Sunday after a physical struggle with police.

Jacareon Travonte Douglas was taken into custody by the Wildwood Police Department on a misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer without violence.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Gray Street at about 10:30 a.m. to investigate a 911 hang-up call. According to the arrest report, dispatchers could hear a juvenile in the background and another individual making statements about a firearm before the caller requested law enforcement and abruptly disconnected.

Upon arrival, officers met with Douglas’s aunt and grandmother. The aunt was visibly shaken and suffering from a panic attack that required emergency medical services to respond to the scene. She told police that Douglas had returned home after being away all night, appeared to be under the influence, and threatened to “shoot up this place.” She also claimed she saw him retrieve an unidentified gray object from his vehicle…
