Amarillo Police Department hosts summer camp for Amarillo, Canyon middle schoolers

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo Police Department has continued to host its summer camp for middle school-aged kids in the Amarillo and Canyon area during June, offering presentations by local community resource organizations, outdoor activities, and trips to area attractions for participating campers.

The camp featured registration and a presentation by Amarillo Family Support Services on Monday, according to the department, followed by a kickball game, a visit to the department’s dispatch center, and Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park. During each week of the camp, officials noted children participate in activities including horseback riding, bowling, swimming, team building exercises, and others.
