LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock County Commissioners approved a lease with Lubbock County Expo Center (LCEC) Inc. on Monday.
The land—80 acres on North University and North Loop 289—will cost LCEC $1 a year for 27 years, with the option for two 25-year renewals. The construction of the expo center, however, is both publicly and privately funded, sparking controversy between county commissioners.
