Car pinned under gasoline tanker in Chelsea, road shut down

Traffic delays are being reported in Chelsea, Massachusetts, on Tuesday morning due to a crash involving a car and a gasoline tanker.

The crash was reported before 5:30 a.m. on Eastern Avenue. Photos from the scene show the car pinned underneath the gasoline tanker with firefighters dousing the area with foam.

It appeared at least two people were injured, but they were able to walk to waiting ambulances.

Chelsea police said in a post on X that Eastern Avenue between Crescent Avenue and Bellingham Street is closed as a result of the crash. Drivers are being advised to avoid the area if possible…
